Cabinet Hardware Update

One of the simplest and most affordable ways to quickly update your kitchen is by updating the hardware on your kitchen cabinets. Whether that means switching from brass to brushed nickel or bronze, or simply updating the style of your handles it can make a big impact with little investment.

Another large impact that can be made in your kitchen is by adding or updating the current backsplash. The backsplash can truly set the tone for the rest of your space whether you want it to be clean and simple like a subway tile, or make a statement with something like a Moroccan tile. Making this update will change the entire look and feel of your kitchen!

Subway Tile

Subway tile is not only a huge trend in kitchen backsplashes now, but it has been for years because it is a classic and timeless choice. Tile to the Ceiling

Don’t be afraid to take your backsplash tile all the way to the ceiling! These photos show great examples of how this can turn out wonderfully. Tiling all the way to the ceiling really plays up the height of your space which is always good. It also creates a beautiful and unexpected statement to the room.

Herringbone Patterns

Another hot trend going on in kitchen backsplashes right now is using a herringbone pattern. This is a nice departure from the average brickwork pattern used in a lot of backsplashes. This pattern creates a lot of movement in your space which is a great way to add interest. It is also a nice way to add pattern without choosing tiles that are patterned themselves which can get outdated very quickly.

Alternative Splashing

We all have come to know and love tile as our dependable kitchen backsplashes.  For those who are a little bored with this option, who want to jazz it up, who need a more cost effective solution, or who just can’t make up their mind about what to do…here are some fun ideas!

Beadboard, clean and fresh but never boring!

Plate grouping , something temporary that you can switch out each season or leave up year-round.

Tin Ceiling Tiles, an unexpected application of these tiles that serves as a conversation piece for those tapas parties you host.

Faux Painted Tile, the patterns and colors are limitless with an artist’s palette at your service.

Happy (back)splashing!
